BNP Paribas Poland Open participants have discovered the appeal of Arka Gdynia Tennis Facility. They enjoyed it so much that eight out of eleven matches ended in three sets.
At 11 a.m. Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Varvara Lepchenko started their matches and at 8 p.m. Kateryna Bondarenko and Katarzyna Piter played the last point of the day. For nine hours a lot happened on three courts and fans could admire their favorite players and enjoy the wins of Polish players – Katarzyna Kawa in singles and Katarzyna Piter in doubles.
Tamara Korpatsch, Weronika Falkowska’s next rival, won only one game in the first set against Olga Govortsova, in the second set she was down 0:4 but in the end she won 1:6, 7:5, 7:5.
Out of three polish singles players who played on centre court today only Katarzyna Kawa advanced to the second round. Weronika Baszak and Magdalena Fręch lost but put up a great fight.
In doubles, out of six Polish players who played today, only Katarzyna Piter won. On Wednesday five singles matches and three doubles meetings, including two matches of the day – Weronika Falkowska versus Tamara Korpatsch and Katarzyna Kawa/Magdalena Fręch versus Alena Fomina (RUS)/Tereza Mrdeza (CRO)
