Playing from dusk till dawn is slowly becoming a tradition of BNP Paribas Poland Open. Three set matches are still in fashion in Gdynia – only three out of eight matches ended in straight sets, one was postponed due to the dark. Irina Bara and Kristina Kucova will finish their meeting tomorrow. The Romanian is in a better position, leading 6:3, 5:7, 4:2.

In singles two quarterfinalists are known. Weronika Falkowska isn’t one of them unfortunately after her 5:7, 1:6 loss to Tamara Korpatsch and to fatigue and foot injury. The German’s next rival will be Anna Bondar. The Hungarian defeated Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6:2, 6:7(5), 6:1 and went from qualifying to the quarterfinals.

In doubles only Kateryna Bondarenko and Katarzyna Piter are already in the semifinal stage, having defeated Jamie Loeb and Eden Silva USA’s Jamie Loeb and Eden Silva of Great Britain. They will find out who their opponents are on Thursday.
